The 1930 Packard Dual Cowl Phaeton, is one of the most attractive body styles produced by the company in 1930. The rear cowl and windshield completely protects its passengers from the elements of the open road. The 740 Model offered here carried the Super 8 motor, sitting on a 140" wheelbase, gives this sporty phaeton a long sleek, well proportioned design. A wonderful road car, the Super 8 Packard's, are very responsive, smooth running road cars that are very easy to drive and enjoy.
Platinum Classic Motorcars is pleased to offer this frame off restored 1930 Packard 740 Super 8 Dual Cowl Phaeton. The restoration on this fine original automobile was completed in 1997, when it received its AACA First Jr National award, it then continued on to receive its AACA National Senior award. Since restoration this fine Packard has been maintained in a climate controlled environment, and has covered very few miles since restoration. It has been fully serviced and detailed to show standards, and still remains in excellent condition.
This 740 Packard Dual Cowl, still bears its proper original ID Data Plate as well as all the proper stampings. It was completely disassembled down to the bare frame and rebuilt. Very finely detailed underneath, and shows as if it was completed very recently. Mechanically the car was completely rebuilt, including the motor, clutch, distributor, carburetor, transmission, ect. Just completing a tune up and servicing in our shop the car runs and drives very well. The entire car is detailed to a high standard, the top and upholstery still remains in like new condition.
This stunning Phaeton is loaded with all of the most desirable Packard accessories. It is fitted with a full set of 6 Chrome wire wheels, chrome side mount covers, full wind wings, Pilot Ray Driving Lamps (the pilot ray lamps turn with the front wheels), and a Packard Sport Light spot light. These options coupled with its elegant color scheme give this wonderfully classic incredible curb appeal and enhances the wonderful lines of this Sport Phaetons styling.
It is becoming harder and harder to find these Super 8 Packard 740 Dual Cowl Phaetons restored to this high of a standard. An excellent addition to any collection.
